Hālau Hula O Makalani Nā Pilialoha is a traditional hula hālau (school) focusing on perpetuating the Hawaiian culture through 'ōlelo (language), mele (songs), oli (chant), and both Kahiko (ancient style) and 'auana (modern) dance.
In our hālau, we consider all our students 'ohana (family) where everyone is treated with love and respect at all times. So put on your pā'ū (hula skirt), and lets dance! Walk in.... HULA out! We look forward to hearing from you!
Laka is not just the goddess of hula, she is the queen of the forest, the creator of graceful movement. She embodies the sacredness of the earth, the forest, itʻs movement, itʻs peace.."
"I love dancing hula because it reminds me of Hawaiʻi and it teaches me the ocean waves and I love my kumu because she a great dance teacher..."
